Türkiye marks the EMITT

Bringing together the world’s tourism professionals and holiday consumers for the 25th time in İstanbul, the Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair (EMITT) was held at the TÜYAP Congress and Fair Centre between February 9-12. The Fair, hosting more than 200 tourism companies from 51 countries, was opened by Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.

At EMITT, one of the five largest tourism fairs worldwide, Türkiye was represented at the Turkish National Stand, which was established jointly by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA).

Ministry and TGA officials at the 150-square-meter Turkish National Stand discussed Türkiye’s touristic and cultural destinations, as well as the promotional activities for these destinations taking place in the country and abroad. At the Fair, the promotion of Türkiye’s 81 provinces was heavily featured, along with the country’s safe tourism efforts. Also within the scope of the Fair, TGA Product Marketing Director Ceylan Şensoy presented a session titled “Türkiye’s Global Tourism Platform: Go Türkiye” on Friday, February 11.

In addition to country promotion stands, hotels, tour operators and agencies actively participated in EMITT, examining holiday destinations and evaluating early booking opportunities. EMITT, offering discussions of new trends in the tourism industry and the chance for industry professionals to meet after the pandemic, proved to be an invaluable opportunity for stakeholders to mutually assess the past two years and consider future projections in the sector.
