Established on July 15, 2019, the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) continues its operations with the aim of making Türkiye a brand and a center of attraction in the domestic and international tourism market; discovering, developing, and promoting tangible and intangible natural, cultural, biological, and man-made heritage; and increasing Türkiye’s tourism capacity, the share of tourism investments in the national economy, and service quality through short, medium, and long-term communication/marketing activities. The Agency will carry out all promotion/marketing/communication activities regarding achieving Türkiye’s tourism goals in line with the tourism strategies and policies determined by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, promoting and marketing existing tourism opportunities worldwide, and discovering, developing, and acquiring potential tourism opportunities.
The Agency is a related entity of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and is subject to private law provisions. The decision-making body of the agency, which consists of Administrative, Executive, and Advisory boards, is the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of 18 members convened under the chairmanship of the T.R. Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism. The Executive Board, which is the executive body, consists of 5 members: the Deputy Minister responsible for the General Directorate of Promotion as the chairman, the General Manager of Promotion, and 3 members selected by the deputy minister from among the Board of Directors members.
With its Board of Directors comprised of a team that has gained significant experience and authority in both the domestic and international tourism fields, the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) will conduct all its activities to contribute to and reinforce Türkiye gaining its targeted position in the international market, to support Türkiye in becoming a globally recognized brand, to increase the number of tourists Türkiye hosts and its profitability, and to facilitate the implementation of potential investment projects for the tourism sector to contribute to the development of cities.
